Significant Injury To My Foot In Soccer

Improved Essays
When I played soccer at Chemeketa, I sustained a significant injury to my foot in soccer. It was my freshmen year of college when I developed two stress fractures in my right foot. I was placed in a boot for a week. It was very hard for me to sit out and not be with my team. After determining the fractures wouldn’t get worse I was able to do limited practice and play in the games. It was very tough to deal with my teammates who didn’t think I should be playing in games because I wasn’t practicing. I still had to wear the boot when I wasn’t playing soccer. I was in extreme pain every time I played soccer and it started to affect my ability to play. Near the end of the season, I could only play in games.
The rehabilitation was very difficult

A premature return to play and/or a deficient rehabilitation programme are the main reasons for this early re- injury rate (Schneider-Kolsky et al, 2006).…
