Relationship between TQM and BE
The stated objective of the EFQM is to supply organisations with a framework that ideally represents a BE philosophy that can be applied in practice to all organisation irrespective of geography, size or business stage (Adebanjo 2001). The pursuit of BE provides a dynamic goal for management in its efforts to improve quality. Savolainen (2000) proposes quality as a natural managerial ideology to attain BE as fundamentally, ‘quality’ within an organisation has the same meaning as ‘innate excellence’ and implies the highest standards.
