I think the song see you again by wiz khalifa represents my 8th grade pretty well because I dropped some of my friendships, took up a few new ones, and my family connection has strengthened. I made many new friends this year, or strengthened my friends I’ve had for years. Some examples of the people I’ve been friends with for a long time are alex colmenares, George kopendaka, and nick wilcowske. I haven’t done much with nick, but we are in a ski/snowboard club together, we both love being in the terrain park, grinding rails and flying off jumps. I’ve been friends with George and Alex for a long time, longer than I can remember.…

We are sometimes only able to see the things that we do not have and overlook the things that we do. We take for granted things like freedom, equality, and being able to gain an education. Many forget that these things are not guaranteed to others that live in different places. I realized how fortunate I am to live in America when I met someone from another country.…

“Stick to flute” is something I’ve heard from a few people while I was trying new things. Mr. Briem, one of the band teachers, took this the opposite direction and started me on a path to unknowingly end up like him. He encouraged me to explore music; that encouragement drove me in my first three years of high school to develop my musical skills. Briem introduced me to the potential I had for growing musically. He saw something in me that no one else did, and I didn't know at the time, but I’d later draw inspiration from that in a different setting.…
