What is wrong? In Sierra Leone, there is limited electricity and communication, which is also present throughout the world. This English speaking country in West Africa, had an eleven year civil war which officially ended in 2011 but things will take a long time to resume normal operations (Google Isreal; M&G). Even before the civil war, things were bad. “If we have a radio station in my community, the people can be able to debate about issues affecting our community and Sierra Leone as a whole”-said Doe (Daily News). There is absolutely a need for ways of debating on issues in the area and school subjects as most citizens of Sierra Leone don’t have computer or internet access (Sengeh). Plus, without the ability to post on YouTube and no money to be on professional radio, many kids cannot share their talents like singing (Google Isreal). Overall, Sierra Leone has many issues and Kelvin Doe says he has fun inventing as well as trying things until they work: “I am curious”
