Below ten percent of Sierra Leone's population has electricity (CIF)! This same issue affects a large portion of Earth's population and in turn, causes other issues. This issue is present in most poor countries and specifically Sierra Leone for a civil war. By having limited access to electricity, cooking food is tough, and communication is severely limited. Creating temporary solutions and inspiring larger ones can combat this problem. Kelvin Doe has helped make power in poor countries closer to reality by making batteries and generators. In Sierra Leone, there is limited electricity and communication, however Kelvin Doe has begun to repair this issue and the world is supporting his efforts.

“If we have a radio station in my community, the people can be able to debate about issues affecting our community and Sierra Leone as a whole”-said Doe (Daily News). There is absolutely a need for ways of debating on issues in the area and school subjects as most citizens of Sierra Leone don’t have computer or internet access (Sengeh). Plus, without the ability to post on YouTube and no money to be on professional radio, many kids cannot share their talents like singing (Google Isreal). Overall, Sierra Leone has many issues and Kelvin Doe says he has fun inventing as well as trying things until they work: “I am curious”
