Day 4
I had breakfast in the morning and got ready for the day. I got my bow and arrows, and I went to the wall to observe and help defend. By the time I made it to the gatehouse, a messenger from the sieging army met up with the lord of the castle, and this messenger demanded an immediate surrender or else everyone in the castle will be killed. Obviously, the the mighty noble refused and sent the messenger back in dismay. Later, I entered the gatehouse, and I found Richard again. He asked me if I could help defend the area around the gatehouse. I accepted this proposal, and I took my position at the gatehouse parapets. I did notice that the lord sent a messenger to his king. Even if they did siege us, we have enough supplies to last for a year! I got ready for battle, and I was also given a large fork to dislodge any attacker foolish enough to climb the walls. Soon after, the attackers blockaded the castle, and this officially began the bloody siege. The besiegers attacked with haste. They brought all the siege weapons that they could possibly bring. I saw them bring trebuchets, ballistas, mangonels, battering rams, siege towers, and ladders. This force was determined to take this mighty fortress, but we were determined to defend it. The massive force of attackers was well-equipped, and they charged at our castle. The wasted no time in getting up that hill, but the the archers and I were shooting away at them through our arrow loops. Their archers fired back, and they finally got their trebuchets and ballistas into place. They began to hurdle huge rocks at us. Some rocks hit the wall while other boulders hit the main town. There was panic and terror all across, but the attackers were losing a large quantity of their troops to our arrows. Later, they moved in with their siege towers, ladders, and battering rams.
