Action: Q9 Identify the reasons for agreeing the purpose, content, layout, quality standards and deadlines for the production of documents When we produce a document we need to ensure it is fit for purpose and delivered on time. For example if my hotel manager asks me to produce a poster to advertise that in 2 weeks we will host a karaoke night, I would bear in mind the following for the production of the document: - The target audience is mainly our hotel guests but we can accept some visitors. - Understand whether it is a free event or a ticket must be purchased, if you whether it should be in advanced or at the door.…

My project was to create a poster, advertising the school play “The Laramie Project”. This poster was supposed to represent the different aspects of the play. Upon speaking with the play director, Ms. Kleinberg, I decided to take a key place from the play and present it on paper in different mediums. This would intrigue people to come see the play, to learn of its significance. The poster was created on separate pieces of paper and would be scanned and put into a computer system to be layered in a photo editing app and sent to be printed.…

Dumpster divers can be the bane of a business owner's existence. While they are out there rifling through your dumpster under the cover of darkness (or often even in broad daylight,) they can leave behind a mess that you have to send one of your employees out to clean up. Not only is this frustrating, but it is ultimately costing your money when it comes to wasted time your staff could be using to do their actual job instead. Unless it is specifically prohibited by local regulations, dumpster diving is legal within the United States.…

Even after the Civil War, in which all African-Americans no longer were deemed as slaves, the life of the black person did not get easier. For generations, the struggle to come out of impoverished lifestyles had been deemed as almost impossible. Faced by segregation, no equal rights, and the KKK, the newly freed African-Americans were not able to completely submerge themselves to “freedom”. Little by little, new opportunities emerged; however, the depths of acrimony and pain prevented blacks to completely embrace them. Those who fought for the chance to make history, emerged successful, but those who let the past hold them back, continued to live in the restrictions of the past.…

Another gay “sign” focuses on Sir Thopas’ surcoat being completely blank. This may symbolize the fact that his sexual orientation or gender are unclear due to the lack of markings. Poet Chaucer describes it as, “And over that his cote-armour / As whit as is a lilye flour” (866-867). Sir Thopas is not defining himself or associating himself with anyone or anything; he wears the blank coat of arms as a sign of independence and freedom from assuming a specific role. Jeffrey Jerome Cohen and the members of interscripta’s state, “…armour as an armoire, a closed space, a closet…a constricting exterior to a lifelong struggle to reconcile the ‘new’ binarism inside / outside (or self / other)” (1).…

Jerrell, I was struck by what you said about visual identity in signage. I was in Berlin, Germany a few summers ago and I was introduced to Ampelmännchen or Ampelmann. During the division of East and West Germany, Ampelmann was the walk/don’t walk sign and has now become a symbol of the city. I saw countless Ampelmann shops selling souvenirs with Ampelmann (and Ampelwoman, and Ampelgirl…you get the picture).…

This movie poster starts off with a tagline that says “From the Director Of Saw and Insidious” what that is supposed to mean is that the movie came out after those two movies and all three movies are similar but different in their own ways to one another. What follows up is the Title of the movie in big bold letters. Underneath the title it allows the audience to know that the film is based on a true story and it is not made up. The placement of the tagline, title, and the statement that is based on a true story is located on the very top. It is placed on the very top so it allows viewers to see the rest of the movie poster and not just that part of the poster.…
