People use drugs to help them escape from reality and sometimes they just like to do them for fun. Drug addiction has been a problem that has been increasing immensely among our society today. Drug addictions can stop us from accomplishing our goals or dreams in life. Addictions can entrap anyone. They are many health risks and side effects that come when abusing these drugs. The top three most used drugs are marijuana because of it produces a relaxed and euphoric effect, alcohol because it is inducing feelings of being happy and reduce anxiety and LSD because it can help people escape from negative events and stress. Heroin also reduces anxiety or stress, but it can really damage your brain or eventually hurt other things organs in your body.

Heroin is a opioid drug that is synthesized from morphine, a naturally occurring substance extracted from the Asian opium poppy plant. It usually appears as brown or white powder or a black tar consistency. Heroin can be used by injecting, snorting, or smoking. All three methods damage the brain rapidly and can contribute to health risks and high addictions, which is a chronic relapsing disease caused by all the changes in the brain. Heroin affects the brain by binding to molecules on cells known as opioids receptors. It first developed in 1973 by German scientist searching for a surgical painkiller, it later was exported to the United States then they tried to use it as a cure for heroin addicts which only made it worse and doubled the addicts twice as much.
