In life, people will search to achieve self identity, direction, and enlightenment. Throughout the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, the protagonist Siddhartha searches for enlightenment and self identity through religion, wisdom, and experiences. Although Siddhartha has all he wants, he loses his path to enlightenment and therefore leads him on a journey to find a different lifestyles to help him find his path to enlightenment again.
