Siddhartha Book review

Siddhartha was born in a rich family of Brahmins. Young Siddhartha was very is smart and handsome. He has the potential to become a great Brahmin among other Brahmins. The people around him know that Siddhartha may destine for a higher purpose. Siddhartha studied the different teachings of the Vedas and Hindu wisdom. He met Govinda and they became best friends. When Siddhartha was growing up he became curious about the Path of enlightenment because he watched his father; A great and respected Brahmin, and he realized that being like his father will not lead him in the path of enlightenment. He decided to leave his family and ask the blessing

Samana is Ascetics who lived in the forest meditate to reach enlightenment; He joined these ascetics and begs for food while living in the forest. Siddhartha adopted this way of life and learned the philosophy of the Samana where destroying the self to reach the true enlightenment by fasting and thinking. Siddhartha lose all of his wealth because being a Samana, he will need to lose all his possession and live the life of no temptations and desires. Both Siddhartha and Govinda have adapted to this lifestyle quickly. Siddhartha learned many things from the Samana Gurus. Siddhartha have imbued himself with the fasting and thinking and waiting manners. While Siddhartha was in the early days on his ascetic way of life, Siddhartha was praised by many Samana even the old aged Samana because of his devotion and discipline on his meditations and thinking. He becomes one of the best students of the eldest Samana Ascetic. Govinda have recognized the talents of Siddhartha in this kind of lifestyle even before being a …show more content…
He smiled when he saw her and the courtesan smiled at him too. The courtesan’s name is Kamala. Siddhartha followed kamala to her home and ask kamala servants if he can talk to her. Siddhartha talk to Kamala and ask her if she could teach Siddhartha the art of love. Kamala agreed but first Siddhartha must fix himself because he has no property and he is a former samana. He needs to own beautiful clothes and shoes or else Kamala would not teach Siddhartha about love. Siddhartha agreed to Kamala ‘s term and find his way to Kamaswami a Businessman and a friend of Kamala.

Kamaswami made Siddhartha his apprentice in his business because Kamaswami saw the qualities of Siddhartha. Siddhartha became a merchant and manage the business of Kamaswami. Siddhartha treat the business as a game. He is happy whether he gets the money or not because he is still in the samana point of view. Kamaswami tried to motivate and add the salary of Siddhartha to improve his work habit, but Siddhartha is still not improving with his deals and his sales. While Siddhartha is a working to get beautiful clothes and shoes, he visits Kamala and she teaches him about the art of
