They go on to talk about the middle class shrinking or disappearing just like the first article. They talk about the middle class shrinking in the final decades of the 20th century. It also has graphs unlike the first article did showing the difference between the different classes. This article just like the first also talks about the how 50 percent of the population is above the poverty line. The article is a little bit different from the first article in that the range is $35,000 to $100,000. In the last article the range was $25,500 to $76,500 so there isn’t that drastic of a change. The authors agree with the last article in that if your making $100,00 you still consider your self middle class. Also if you are a younger household from 30-44 you are more likely to have a lower income. If you are an older household in your 60’s you are likely to be middle or upper middle class. There have been multiple studies of the income range done. All of these articles are in common in that no one knows what the income range is for the middle class. That’s why the middle class is disappearing and there is no set number. The author has a psychologist saying that people’s social status has more to do with their heads then their wallets. Which neither the first two articles had somebody like that talk about this subject. They go on to say that people making six figures call them selves upper middle class because they don’t want to feel different. Which is very interesting because this article is taking a totally different route then the first two articles did but it also had some similar points that the first two articles
