chosen to leave it out is that this determiner is not very important in TT and does not affect the meaning of the instance. In addition, the joke ends with the idiomatic expression “she's not easy”. The phrase refers to a someone who is easily seduced and sexually promiscuous. The humorous effect of the joke arises from a parody of Snow White as a woman of easy virtue who lives with seven other men but still is hard to get. In order to retain wittiness of the phrase, the translator uses a metaphor “apvynioti apie pirštą”. This idiomatic expression is used to describe a naive person who can be easily seduced or deceived. Consequently, the Lithuanian equivalent renders the joke and even strengthens its comic effect.

When the two first meet, the woman is sexually appealing because there is conquest and a prize, but after she has sex with him, her value actually decreases because she is considered dirty and used. Therefore, a double standard is presented as women are expected to be madonna or whore,…

Lantin until one gets towards the end and realizes that the wife is as deceiving as anyone else can be. During the second time reading it, with the wife’s supposed lover in mind, one can translate the wife’s actions. For example, when she decides to go to the theater without M. He is still considered to be the father of the detective story and he remains one of the most timeless and extraordinary of all American creative artists.
