When considering the type of climate and culture Park Middle School expects to provide to students and staff, many factors contribute to Park receiving mostly comfortable collaborative and fully collaborative ratings according to the descriptors in Gruenert and Whitaker’s School Typology Activity (see Appendix F). Following further review of the School Culture Typology Activity, three aspects of the results immediately resonated with me. First, there is the fact that our staff scored “comfortable collaborative” regarding openness amongst themselves as well as administration. My most positive high school experience for me has to be when I was inducted into National Honor Society for my senior year. This was something that I has been striving to do since my freshman year after I received my first academic letter. But after our school decided to only allow seniors to be inducted, raised the GPA requirement, and reduced the amount of people that would be allowed to be inducted I wasn’t sure if my goal would still be attainable. But after three years of strenuous classes, constant volunteer service, and keeping my grades up I finally received an acceptance letter and was inducted into NHS where I am able to surround myself with others that have the same academic goals as…

School Spirit is something that defines a school and truly gets students involved. With school spirit, sporting events and other activities are drastically improved for the players and everyone attending.
