On a cold december morning, Timothy Odusote a highschool Junior limped from his car to the gym where group homeroom was held. As he entered the gym he noticed the basketball scoreboard was on with the number twenty-four directly under the home team. Timothy immediately knew what this meant and it saddened him immensely. For the duration of the day all he could think of were the sprints that he would have to run during practice later that day,Youth sport can be beneficial as well as detrimental to a child 's physical and emotional health a also plays a role in shaping a child 's character. Competition seems a primary objective for many today. “Our society has gotten carried away with the need to be Number One, that we push our kids too …show more content…
Playing a sport adds another layer of social backing to a child in that he or she adopts a second family or enters a new community. What 's more remarkable are the relationships that the child may form with his or her coach,and teammates These relationships are built on trust,expectations, and encouragement, some of the same characteristics that are expected in a friend. As these bonds continue to strengthen and grow the relationships can change in that teammates become friends, and as friendships grow; friends become brothers, or sisters. The relationship with coaches also grow and children may begin to look at them as role models, mentors, and parental figures.Youth sport also teaches children the value of teamwork, and having roles to get the job done. It never good to encourage a bad relationship with another person or team, but, unfortunately this is the reality than many youth face today in sports.
Sports are a tremendous benefit to the physical health of youth. Children need exercise in order for there bodies to work efficiently. In order to attain this Children 's bodies need the physical aspect of youth sport. The physical aspect of youth sports keep youth strong and in shape while preserving cardiovascular health and proper blood circulation; exercise also provides the mind with what it needs to stay sharp and balanced throughout the day.
