Should You Put A Suspected Terrorist Behind Bars?

Should you lie in a case whether you know that there is no evidence to dispute what you said and to do ? So you will put a suspected terrorist behind bars ? I believe that the ethical and legal consequences of your actions will be too great in doing so . You have sworn to uphold the law , but you are deliberately breaking your oath . Both as an officer of the law and a moral person you cannot follow the instructions in your partner to lie about the methods he used in order to get the code to deactivate the bomb . Unquestionably , if I were put in this position I would not follow my partner's instructions . If I were to go to allow with his story I would break the Fifth Amendment which prohibits police coercion . This amendment protects all people on …show more content…
The supposed code to deactivate the bomb could possibly not work . The evidence against him could be circumstantial and he was at the right place at the wrong time . Which would call into questioning the story you both told . Additionally , the legal consequences of lying are that I may get away with it short term . Later on , the police department may investigate because the severity of the wounds of the suspect . They may notice there are no or very little wounds on the officer and that there are no defensive bruises on the suspect . They may even investigate his previous case to see if there is a pattern of his history where he claims / claimed suspects were getting aggressive during an interrogation . During this time , he would be unable to continue working pending the outcome of the investigation . Which in the trail of the suspected terrorist against him will most likely be thrown out ? By telling the truth my partner would be either put on academic leave or would have a struck against him on his record but it would deter others from doing the same or him from repeating his actions

From this reading I find it rather interesting how solitary confinement is issued. At Least in the adult essence where a rule is broken and by rebelling against staff and or other inmates you go to solitary confinement. However in theory that sounds okay. However, after understanding the reality of this practice, it is in no way doing any good for the subject who is placed in this position, especially a child. If a child is placed in solitary confinement, how will the be able to rehabilitate or be habilitated?…

Officer discretion is the ability of officers to use logic and common sense. And, for those seeking assistance from the criminal justice system (CJS), mandatory arrest subordinates their rights and needs to that of the CJS. Advocates claim, with effectiveness that the criminal justice system has factual ignored the context, circumstances and various desires and needs of victims. Majority of states have accepted arrest policies that require police to either arrest one or both parties at the scene, or to just write a report justifying why an arrest is not made. Mandatory arrest policies are normally safer for the victim because if the abuser isn’t arrested, he or she will make the attack worse against the victim as a beating for contacting the…

Lying and deception is one of the most common sins that we see in law enforcement according to our ethic book. This is one of the sins that can easily be made, and most would see as not a very big sin depending on what an officer is lying about. A person of the law should never lie but some examples can be when a civilian reports an officer doing something they shouldn’t of done like speeding or turning their lights on to get through a light just so they don’t have to wait. Now when this gets reported an officer could easily lie and say he or she didn’t do this because there is most likely no evidence of this being done and it’s the officers word against the civilians. Now that is just a simple example of how an officer could lie to a leader or their department.…
