Should You Be Required To Play A Sport In High School?

In your opinion, do you think that you should be required to play a sport in order to graduate high school? Personally, I don't think you should have to. If you are making someone play by force, that individual is not going to give the coach or the team 100% out on the field or on the court. What if a person is mentally or physically disabled? You can't exactly make them play. That's not fair to them. Not playing sports could affect your grades for the worse, it most likely won't determine where you go to college or affect your future.

If you play a sport in high school, it could possibly affect your grade in a negative way. If anything, not playing a sport could possibly affect your grades in a good way. I think you should only play a sport if you are capable of keeping your grades above a B average. With all the time you spend shopping for sports equipment, practicing, or playing in a game, you could be doing things to help pull your grade up. Now, if you are capable of keeping your grades up, and you would like to play a sport, then go for it! Why would you force someone to play a sport if they are not capable of keeping their grades up? I'm most definitely not saying that playing sports in high school is a bad thing. It could be very beneficial. Playing a sport helps you keep up physically which is a good thing considering that 67% of the world's population is suffering from obesity. If you don't have time or can't keep your grades up, however, you just shouldn't play. Honestly, I really don't understand why it should be required before you graduate high school. High school should be a fun experience. It should create memories. It won't be fun if you're forced to play! Do what you feel the most comfortable
