Should Women Join The Military Research Paper

Decent Essays
Women have always wanted the right to serve in the military. After fighting for the right to join, they are now worried that women are going to be brought into dangerous combat situations. I think that it is a good thing that women have the right to join the military. Also, I feel that I agree with women being able to choose whether or not they want to be in the military and that they can be put in combat situations. There are a few reasons why that I think this way. First, if we gave them the right to join let them. Second, some women want to be in that kind of situation. Finally, because women can be very crazy.

I think that it would be okay to let women join the military even if they are put in dangerous combat situations. The reason why I think this is for one, we gave them the right to join in the first place. Why should we try to take them out of combat situations when they were the ones who wanted to join the military in the first place? If they fought for the right for women to be able to join the military, I do not understand why we should disagree to them being in a combat situation. It really does not make sense to me, women I think are very capable of being in combat situations, and here is my second reason as to why I feel this way.

At first they did not want them in the wars. Next, women fight for the right to join the wars so then we finally let them. Now there is a problem on whether we like it or not because it could become too dangerous for them. Why are we changing our minds so often? I believe that since we let them have the right to join, they should not be controlled on what they got themselves into. Women can be in dangerous combat situations and thrive in them, for the reasons I have explained above. I agree that women are okay to be put in the military and fight in dangerous combat

“US military commanders repeatedly used women to go into battle spaces where men could not go” (Malrine par. 39). It’s understandable going into the situation thinking that you’re going to be all fist fight and one on one fighting, but when I think of the military no I think of guns and long range tactics to further protect our soldiers. I’m not sure many men would agree that men and women think alike, ladies, think back to the last time a guy said something that just made you mad but they didn’t seem to understand why you were mad. Imagine getting information from other countries. Women know how to talk to women.…

The author of the essay, “Military Women in Combat, Why Making It Official Matters”, Jena McGregor starts right off by telling you the topic she will cover. She starts the essay with the sentence, “It’s been a big couple of weeks for women in the military” to draw in her audience by leaving them intrigued from something that hasn’t changed in years. After using that sentence to catch the audience’s attention, she then states, “Last week, female soldiers began formally moving into jobs in previously all-male battalions, a program that will later go Army-wide” as a strong thesis. McGregor goes on to talk about how many jobs have opened to women in the military by the rules getting changed. Although she adds this huge fact she also added how…

In Molly M. Ginty’s article “All Guts, No Glory”, she explores the issue of women serving in combat and the unfair reality that females have faced in the U.S. armed forces. In my opinion I strongly believe that women should be allowed to participate in combat. Many reasons why are if she signed up for this and has all the right training for it she should be allowed to go into war and fight for our country the same way men do. Women put their life at risk the same way males do getting shipped out to different countries protecting our country. In the article it says “one of the most dangerous jobs in the military today is driving a truck – a position that many women hold.”…

The women who argue to be able to serve in combat are not acknowledging the danger it puts themselves and the United States Military in. In the article,“Why Women Do Not Belong in the U.S Infantry.”, Serrano expresses that if they allowed women to serve in combat during her service in the military, anyone including herself would have jumped at the opportunity because of the novelty, excitement, and challenge; but, her views have changed with the experience and knowledge she has gained. Everyone needs to accept the fact that women are different, not only physically, but all around. It will only destroy the mission of the services (Para. 1). Also, allowing women to serve in infantry will cause enormous amounts of distractions.…

They are too sensitive at times, distracting, and they give birth to the children. These are only a few of the arguments used to justify why women would not be as useful in the army. Men use war to prove how masculine they are and by adding women to the equation it would make it harder for them to do that. Even women being nurses during war wasn’t acceptable at first, until all the male nurses were called to fight in war. (Paul Schue Lecture).…

Women in combat. It has recently sparked a debate on whether women should be allowed in combat or not. In my opinion, women shouldn’t be allowed in combat because they are too emotional to handle the long periods of time of being on tour, they aren’t physically built like men, and there would be too many problems with having men and women living together. Women are way too emotional to withstand being in combat. They wouldn’t be able to handle the 100+ degree temperatures, the stress of being away from their families for long periods of time, and they wouldn’t be able to handle being shot at all the time.…

Having women required to sign up for the draft may seem deranged, but women want necessarily be put in the front lines; now that all combat positions are open its almost fair they sign up, and having a gender neutrality act will show that women are capable to serve in the military. Many people feel that women should not be drafted. Some people are against women being drafted because they believe women will be placed on the front lines, and…

Women have, for years, been denied combat roles in the military and that is precisely the argument held by the Pentagon for giving women immunity from the Selective Service. They reason that because women have not had equal opportunity as men in the military, then they should not be asked to carry the burden that would come in the event of a draft. This was valid argument for the matter, that is, up until as recently as January 2016 when the Pentagon decided to open all combat roles to both men and women including Special Operations forces. As a result the military now concedes that women can perform in combat roles, so the rationale for why they shouldn’t be…

Not only for the soldiers, but also for the leaders of the nations, children, and non-military member women. Of course, soldiers have something to fear they are participating in combat, and the leaders of the government fear losing their positions. Children don’t understand war, so what child wouldn’t be afraid of dying, losing a loved one or being a teenager drafted to war. Those are all difficult things to deal with, but women have to deal with that and more. When soldiers from foreign lands arrive, women fear getting raped.…
