On average, men tend to choose their mate based on their appearance. They have a tendency to be more physically attracted to women that have an hourglass figure, a pretty face, and a decent body. Whether or not a woman has intellect, ambition, sense of humor, generous or kind doesn’t normally affect their decision until after the initial attraction. There is plenty of evidence that indicates men and women are biologically and psychologically different. It’s simple to draw the conclusion that men value a women’s beauty while women look for men with a high social status. “No man will turn his head to ogle a woman because she looks like the type to buy a turkey sandwich for a homeless man or read to the blind” (Alkon). Men prefer to have a “knock-out” on their arm; therefore, they should compliment their significant other often.
