Should We Replace Animal Testing?

Should animals be tested on or not? Many people have differing opinions. Some say it is cruel and unnecessary, while others say we need it in order to save many more lives. By using animal testing in a humane way we as humans will greatly benefit from it while also sometimes helping the animals. Animal testing is a good way to test medical things because it saves human lives, the advancements can supplement but not replace animal testing, and it advances the medical industry. Mostly everyone can agree that saving human lives is a good thing. As in the words of one author, “without animal testing, there will be no new drugs for new hard-to-treat diseases”. (Animal Research 1) Because is important to treat as many diseases as we can, scientists need to use as many tools as they can. “Without the ability to use animals in their research, scientists’ efforts would be massively hampered.”(Pycroft, Marston 1) The problem with trying things on a human is that you only have so many tries. “If the first treatment doesn't work, patients may often be too weak or sick to try a second.” (Kopp, Camosy 1) Using animal testing to save human lives is very important. …show more content…

    After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research.
