Should We Let Cursive Die Analysis

Should we let cursive die? Should it become a relic of the past. Should it be replaced just as a quill gave way to pens and how typewriters gave way to computers? In this day and age cursive is a useless skill but it is still something that is taught in schools. Cursive should no longer be taught in schools because it is unnecessary in a digital age, it takes time away from teachers to teach other topics, and it has no special values or benefits compared to other forms of writing

This is just about getting rid of cursive. Basic handwriting/ print is still an important skill. It is still a skill that needed in life. As many point out that people won't always have an electronic device on them or would take less time to jot a note down. As well as certain jobs require hand writing for many things. Some states are trying to bring cursive back into their school learning program, so that kids know how to use cursive. In my opinion, I think that cursive should still be taught in school today so that kids can have cursive to use if they get tired of using regular print in school. First cursive can help by taking notes faster so students will not fall behind and miss any of the notes need to take in college, Next cursive helps the left and right brain cells communicate better, lastly cursive is a skill that everybody will need to know for later in life. Also cursive makes the left and right brain cells work together so each side of your brain works better together. The brain cells working together can help because it can make think harder about stuff because of the cell communication.…

One reason cursive should be taught is because of reading important documents. Many kids can’t read important and historical documents because they are written in cursive. For example, The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Emancipation Proclamation, and several more documents. In the article “Five Reasons Kids Should Still Learn Cursive Writing” by Katy Steinmetz it told about a family that went to National Archives building to see the constitution, when they got there the parents realize that their kids weren't reading it. The mother asked them to read it and they couldn’t, the mom was shocked that her kids couldn’t read cursive.…

We do not really need to learn the importance of cursive handwritting because, no one will need to really write anymore if everything is done threw technology. As the narrator stated in the passage "technology is moving at such a rapid pace that even keyboards may soon be in danger of extinction". Just knowing something like that most people cant even type as much as they should know how.…

The debate between keeping or removing cursive handwriting is one I have had multiple times with my two children when they have come home complaining about their schoolwork. I firmly believe that it no longer has its uses outside of school in todays society. As author two stated in paragraph 3; "The truth is that cursive writing is virtually gone. Handwriting has taken a backseat to typing as technology dominates the way we communicate. " We currently live in a time where cursive has no place to be used on a daily basis.…

That's how people loose the best thing that ever happen to them in life. Back in the day people didn't even have those rights to do so in life. So people shouldn't even complain on what people do or, don't do in life.…
