The discussion of animal testing has been going on for a long time. Animal testing began in 500 B.C. People found greek drawings and paintings from when animal testing first began. In 1996, the law of legalizing animal testing was passed. People do animal testing to test medical treatments, cosmetics, and other health related products. Before, chimpanzees and other primates were the prime testing animals because they are similar to humans, but now as of 2013 chimpanzee and other primate testing is being reduced. Animal testing is cruel and inhumane and shouldn’t be happening. Ultimately, what is at stake here is the innocent lives of animals worldwide.
