Students Should Be Educated With Money

Should we be Educated with Money or Educated with Technology? Education is very important in our society, and many generations now are adapting into a society full of new technology. New innovations have changed the way we view or do something on a daily basis. In school education, we rely on teachers to care for the student’s achievements and losses. If we were to say that a Middle School in the Antelope Valley had accessibility to a free high-end tablet for eighth graders to use for the whole school year, the results in their education accomplishments should become an advantage in the education. Parents want the best for their children(s) and want their child’s future to be full of opportunity. There are some people who want to change the …show more content…
This is something a tablet cannot do to a child’s life besides make them attach to the device to play games. Teachers can help provide guidance when the web is not there to ask. Spending the money to take time and go on a field trip makes a child adventurous and curious to the world, we cannot allow technology to take that hands-on experience from them. The site Livestrong says,” Students visiting different educational facilities learn in a more hands-on and interactive manner than they do in school” (Kulas) this type of learning experience can take them to different learning environments that can possibly also allow them to help their community and the environment. The different types of a field trip that schools take children to are like, “zoos, nature centers, community agencies such as fire stations and hospitals, government agencies, local businesses and science museums… also benefit the community if they include some type of community service “(Kulas). The variety of field trips will give students a break from learning in class and learn something in social activities. I remember when I was in elementary school in the Valley I used to go to field trips, at least, every …show more content…
Some disadvantages are that eighth-grade student will have the benefits of having these devices and no lower grades are provided with these devices furthermore, students will get distracted when using their high-end devices. Another is that when it comes to difficult questions the program may not provide as much solutions or definitions to a problem and the need of extra help would need to be provided; which also means that high-end devices are not doing the best job in teaching a student at their full potential. Another factor is that student’s health might get in effect like for instance their vision. Vision is a great part of how we view everything in our lives but not exercising the children’s eyes can become a serious problem. Staring at screens like a computer is harmful and about “…50% and 90% of people who work at a computer screen have at least some symptoms of eye trouble” (Computer Vision Syndrome). Another factor of using the high-end device is that the school may need to purchase storage of these devices, even extra apps and security systems or even pay for damages if something were to happen. Many more disadvantages are if the student takes their device home the problem of slow or not any internet access can become an

The education system needs standardization in moderation. If the system narrows down the requirements too much, it is going to make a majority of students look bad because standardization allows a general idea of how well a student performs. Davidson does not provide a solution to this issue, however, there is a way to satisfy both the education system and the student so there is a benefit to both. If an education system makes it a requirement for students to choose their own elective courses, outside of the math and English classes, it allows the students to explore their interests and won’t be labeled as failures when they show…

As previously mentioned, identifying gifted students based on psychosocial factors is more effective than determining skills based on exams. A student who has the required attributes, but is not considered gifted, can still benefit from services for the talented (Ritchotte). Another problem that can be changed is the neglect from school employees; in fact, “many educators hold the popular myth that these skillful students can survive it on their own without much assistance from teachers” (Yee Han, 46), meaning that talented students are also left isolated from their teachers. This myth has dominated the stereotype of gifted and caused for helpful services to not be created. Teachers, and parents alike, need to be aware of the complications that gifted students face every day and assist them in getting all they can out of a healthy educational experience (Yee Han, 45).…

“It is possible for students to get so caught up in issues such as type font or audio clips that they pay less attention to the substantive content of their product….Teachers are developing strategies to make sure that students do not get distracted by some of the more enticing but less substantive features of technology” (effects of technology). The problem, today, is that with the technology the students have a toy in front of them which is taking their concentration away from the teacher and to the device that they have. The teacher should be the main focus in the room, not the computer or whatever they have. They are even losing focus on what the assignment is. The students are too focused on what their assignment looks like rather than the content in it.…

With online learning the parent or an in home tutor is not teaching the student, a teacher through the computer is teaching the student through email or virtual classroom, but the parent does not have to be present. A lot of people say this is another way for students to get lazy and become unfocused and fall behind in their education process. But I completely disagree, I find this as an opportunity for the student to get completely ahead if they are focused, and determined, you could graduate early and then have time to figure out what you actually want to do. I think you just have to know your student and know if they would thrive in an education environment at home. Also you need to trust your child if your student is saying they want to try online school from home, you should let them try it and if they don 't like it, they can just go back to normal school, its really not that big a deal.…
