Back in 1787, the people made the voting age 21 years old. Then, in 1870, the 15th amendment allowed black people able to vote, but the voting age stayed the same at age 21. Finally, in 1970, the voting age was changed to 18 years old were young adults were able to vote for the 37th presidency, Nixon vs. Humphrey. They changed the voting age to 18, the reason being is if 18-year-olds were going to fight for our country and go to war, they should be able to vote for the leader of it. Not all teenagers chose to fight for out country so I believe the voting age should be changed back to 21 years old.

Hayes the presidency of the United States. When people say that their vote doesn't matter, it really does, just by these examples.
On an online source, 76% of the people said that it should be raised to 21. The other 24% says it shouldn't be raised, but it should stay the same. The first guy says that 18-year-olds are just getting out of high school and aren't thinking about voting for the right party or are just too lazy to vote. On the opposite side, a person said that is should be lowered to sixteen. He says that because if they are mature enough to drive than they are mature enough to vote, but he also says that it doesn't apply to all.
