Considering a larger measure of people believe playing video games should be considered a sport, they didn’t stop to think about the other side of the argument.
To begin with the merriam-webster states, a sport is “a contest or game in which people do certain physical activities according to a specific set of rules and compete against each other.” That means that physical activity should be involved in a sport, video games don’t have any physical activity unless you count the moving of fingers and arms. Like chess and checkers, video games don’t have physical activity and its like a competition rather than sport.
