I do not consider myself a video games fan, nor do I consider videogames a sport. I love playing soccer with my son, or going for a walk with my husband. A sport that keeps me on the move, something that makes me feel better and energize at the end of the day. Even if I do not have time to go out to exercise, I have a very good routine to do at home some push-ups, squats, abdominal, and I am good to go. If you can see by now the location does not really matter when it comes to sports, you can practice a variety of sports at the park, at the gym, and in your own house, so you do not have any excuse to be lazy. However, there is a lot of people throughout the world who consider video games a sport. I agree that you are exercising your mind with all those strategies, but let’s use logic here— according to Dictionary.com, the definition of sport is “an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, etc.” Therefore all the hours in front of a computer or television playing a video game does not count as sport nor exercise. It is clear that video gaming is not a sport whatsoever, but if you still have doubts let’s discuss some reasons why video games should not be considered a sport. First, as I mentioned before the definition of sport is an athletic activity anything that requires the body to move and make an effort to gain a good physical condition, and of course to maintain it.
