Excluding a perfectly qualified candidate who wishes to enlist in the military is a step backwards. Everybody eligible to join the military should have the right to do so. Why shouldn’t transgender people be eligible? It was not even controversial up until now. Banning transgender people from enlisting in active duty is creating a problem instead of solving one. Not only is banning transgender people is a massive step backwards for the LGBTQ community, it is almost mocking the bravery and patriotism of the individual.

Research by The Washington Times states that the United States has wasted over 45 million dollars on faulty and defective products. In addition, the 29-129 transgender people would not even make a dent within the United States military budget. The United States budget is so extremely large that the second highest military budget in the world is not even close -China with 215 billion dollars. The United States military budget is simply overspending on unnecessary things. China’s population is over triple the United States’ and yet their military is doing just fine with less than half of the United States’ annual budget.
