Even though transgender is sadly a problem in today’s society, why is it forced in stores, for instance, Target. Children and even adults can be rape or molested due to people dressing up as the opposite sex. Why don’t they use the family bathroom?
Transgender has been an issue in our society for a long time now. Some people who were born a male or female have gotten gender alteration surgery to change their sex due to bullying or even because they have just not felt right in their own body. A couple years ago, Target decided that their restrooms would be transgender. A retailer who works at Target told CNN, "We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong" (Mclean). How come Target decided that their bathrooms were going to be for whatever gender they want to be described as?

For example, you could get looked up and down by someone and you wouldn’t know about it. Hannah Ellis, a writer for cnsnews.com, wrote in her article that, “A woman and her young daughter were using a bathroom in a Virginia mall when the mother saw a mirror under the stall divider, the second recent peeping incident involving a man dressed as a woman,” (Ellis). Parents let their children walk to the restrooms by their selves where they could be followed by a stranger. Do you know if the person is transgender and is following your child to the bathroom? You kids could be molested and you wouldn’t know unless you child tells you what happened or if someone walks in and see it

Most bathroom bills that have recently been proposed aim to make sure trans people can only use public bathrooms that match the sex indicated in their birth certificate. This means that a trans woman who was born male will not be allowed to use a female bathroom in a mall or a restaurant. It might seem like too much trouble to go through in an effort to limit a trans person’s use of the bathroom, but…

Recent in the news I have been hearing about the Trans Bathroom Law and it genuinely confuses me as to why it is such an issues. Why do people care so much about a stranger's genitals that would prompt them to make a law forcing them to use the incorrect bathroom? I am a transman living in Texas just trying to get by. This law affects me and people around me because I am a mostly passing man having to use the Women’s bathroom. I do not understand why forcing a trans person to use the wrong bathroom is more acceptable than having the decency to just let them use the restroom of gender they identify with.…

Maybe people should just avoid using public restrooms. Then there is the similar but different issue of locker rooms. Locker rooms are separated by gender to protect students, so how do we both protect transgendered students and cisgendered students? I wish I could say there was a simple solution, perhaps have four locker rooms rather than two. One for cis males, one for cis females, one for transgender males, one for transgender female.…

Transgender individuals often have trouble when it comes to using bathrooms. When a male is transforming to a female does he use the women’s or men’s bathroom, or does he use what’s most comfortable for him? If he uses, what’s most comfortable for him that brings up the question of is that what’s most comfortable for everyone else using the bathroom? “In 2016, at least 15 states have considered “bathroom bills” similar to the legislation recently enacted in North Carolina, which blocks transgender people from using bathrooms that don’t correspond to the sex listed on their birth certificate.” (Young RP 44)…

Republicans have argued that letting transgender women use little girls bathroom is inappropriate. While I believe in equal rights for all, I am a bit concerned about transgender women using the same bathroom as the rest of us, not because I am worried that those women would harm anyone, but it does worry me how this law could be easily exploited by men who might want to harm little girls or women. However, we will have to find a way to accommodate everyone equally while keeping us all safe and comfortable. This is definitely easier said than done.…

Currently, there is no federal law that explicitly prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Most states also lack such statutes. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Justice have found that discrimination against transgender people—including denying them bathroom access—is a form of sex discrimination covered under the Civil Rights Act. Simply making restrooms unisex or creating private family restrooms would easily resolve this issue, but why would we want to “discriminate” against anyone and single them out. There are sick and depraved people everywhere and there’s no getting away from that fact.…
