For one, stick to ordering drinks from a bar. Do not accept drinks from someone that you may not know well or just met. Especially at a house party, do not just drink something given to you in a red cup. Even if they say what it is, there could be something extra that you or they may not even be aware of. To be even safer, only drink from unopened bottles or cans so that way you can open them yourself and will know that nothing was put into it before it was given to you. If you feel the need to still drink from a glass or cup, then when you hold it, hold it from the top. Covering it with your palm will make it harder for someone to put something into your cup. Another good tip to prevent from drinking a spiked drink would be to always watch your drink. Do not let it out of your sight. If you have to go somewhere and do not want to take your drink, then give it to a friend to watch or finish off. If you have to sit your drink down somewhere unattended, then when you come back, just get a new one. Also, avoid drink sharing. At parties are the times when people just drink from each other’s drink, but do not share. You never know if someone slipped something into their drink and they are now spreading it around the party. For safety precautions, do not share. There are signs that you could look for to tell if your drink has been messed with. If you sat it down and it is even just slightly moved from where you put
