Should There Be Tried Persuasive Essay

Murder is one of the biggest crimes one can commit and has the most harsh punishment, ranging from death to a very long sentence. Brendan Dassey was a young man when he was taken in by the police and investigators and he also has a mental disability. He was obviously scared and said what he was told to say. I believe they should’ve investigated him and steven more but i don’t believe he should’ve been tried. Even if they found him innocent, the trial would already give him a bad reputation and scar him mentally and emotionally.

Brendan shouldn’t have been tried for many reasons. One reason is because he was so young and scared. He didn’t know what to say or do and the investigators kind of persuaded him to say things that weren’t true. He later on told his mom the truth which is more believable because he is probably most comfortable around his mother. They tried him as an adult even though he was 16 and has a mental disability which i find ridiculous.

For example, when he was in the room with the investigator with all the pictures on the desk he persuaded him to write on the paper something to do with him helping his uncle murder Teresa and then went on to call Brendans lawyer and tell him he got a confession and they were both pretty happy about

    Is Willingham Guilty?

Personally, I do not think that they did enough investigations towards the case. Therefore, it would be hard to judge whether Cameron Todd Willingham is guilty or not guilty of intentionally setting the fire that killed his daughters. The fact that former Governor Perry did not allow the case to be extended for 30 more days in order for Willingham’s attorney to find more evidence for the case seems outrageous. If a man has been seating in jail for that many years, what is that to give that person 30 more days. One would never know what that 30 days will entailed and there might be a possible chance to free this person.…

As far as the verdict decision, I completely agree. First, Sarah was not willing to admit what happened to her parents. If she actually committed the murders, then should would obviously be guilty. Sarah would not confirm or deny that she committed the crime; I felt as though she was withholding information. Her fiancé could have committed the crime but because she wants to protect him rather than give her own family members closure she should have to deal with the consequences.…
