There are immigration laws that protect illegal criminals and allow them to stay. Currently, if an illicit immigrant is caught by the authorities in America, they are given a ticket and told to appear in court two to three days later. This is know as the Catch and Release Policy. A major flaw is that when an immigrant is informed they need to appear at court, they usually go into hiding, as they are already a criminal and are careless about breaking the law. The solution is to simply deport the immigrant instead of giving them an opportunity to run away and hide. Additionally, laws have been passed that protect illegal immigrants that were never originally supposed to be in the United States. For example, several states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Vermont, and Washington are currently allowing illegal immigrants to get a United States drivers license. This does nothing but increase the difficulty to distinguish between real U.S. Citizens and Illegal immigrates. Also, by having sanctuary Jurisdictions in our country, illegal immigrants can harm Americans. Sanctuary Jurisdictions allow them, some being recent criminals, to be held in the United States instead of simply sending them back to their country.
