Should The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Be A Sign Of The Gospel

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most prolific event that ever happen. Should the resurrection of Jesus Christ be a sign of the Gospel, or not? Before determining this question, the meaning of sign must be noted. “It is an important word which points to something beyond itself. When a miracle is designated by this term, it is seen as a happening that is not self-contained, not an end in itself.” “A sign is; something material or external that stands for or signifies something spiritual; something indicating the presence or existence of something else.” The signs of John were considered miracles. When John uses the word “sign”, it is noted to be different from the use in the synoptic gospels. The signs (miracles) happened to highlight that Jesus and the Father are one. To understand the term “sign”, is to mean a miraculous happening that points to some spiritual truth, there are seven signs in the Book of John.
