By giving this responsibility to the police there would be confusion within the community since in some provinces or even areas the police might be too restrict on how the pot shops operate while other areas the police are more laid back and less restrict on the activity of the pot shops. This would be much more harmful to the society because if one needs to use marijuana for medical reasons and lives in the area where police are more restrict they would be disadvantaged and wouldn’t be able to access their medication. Vice versa if someone lives in the area where there is less restriction on the use of marijuana and the person uses the drug for pleasure than that could also lead to health concerns. Over all I don’t necessarily disagree with the involvement of the police if they behave accordingly to the laws that are set by those with higher authority regarding the pot
