Some companies may even go to the extent of suing peer-to-peer networks and individual users across the globe, and just to find out that those users are just college students or low income people. Internet piracy is also beneficial to the artist and the consumers. Consumers can learn about new artists by sampling their music on the internet leading them to purchase more of the artist music and making the newer artist even richer. You can apply these potential benefits to local musicans or newer upcoming musicans. Getting their music on these rougue websites could lead to a bigger fan base across the world and then eventually leading them to earn some profit, but internet piracy can still hurt the global artists that we know today. But if the government could regulate the internet more the pirarcy rate in most countries would significantly decrase. The governmet would help the music and movie industry, and even other businesses save profits.
