Online education has so far been in the limelight of the modern education system. Apparently, this type of education is directly associated with higher levels of learning. The introduction of different courses as well as scholarships attracts a diversified populace across the globe. However, some students cannot manage to attend direct classes due to various reasons like distance or technical challenges (Mayadas et al., 2009). By this virtue, it forces these universities to offer online programs for such students. Despite the fact that these online classes appear to be advantageous, various concerned organizations are currently appealing for its exclusion. However, federal government should encourage distance learning because online education gives opportunities to …show more content…
Despite the fact that not all online courses have the same tuition fee, the general conclusion here is that the associated costs are pretty much cheap. A good example is that the student will not commute to attend lectures hence he or she will likely save money. Moreover, some online courses do not require the student to purchases course materials such as textbooks since these books are sometimes free because they are available online (Frith et al., 2013). Furthermore, many universities and colleges are now offering credits earned through the free massive online degrees. Provision of free online courses helps students to successively accomplish the general educational requirements with little or no cost. Therefore, the federal government should encourage online education since it will enable students as well as their guardians to save a lot of money. Additionally, the government will save a lot of revenue that was to support students hence the government can proceed to allocate some of these funds in supporting a different and beneficial
