Should The Dark Arts Be Allowed To Stay Legal

Decent Essays
I think the Dark Arts should not be allowed to stay legal. They are used to harm, torture and even kill people. If the Dark Arts are allowed to stay legal, the world will have many problems. People will be tortured because they disagree with things that aren't right. Dark Magic will go crazy and take over the world. The world would no longer be as we know it. We couldn't hide all the Dark Magic from Muggles so the Statue of Secrecy would be broken.
Hogwarts would no longer be a school of magic, it would be a school of Dark Magic. Students would learn Dark Magic and grow up to be Dark witches and wizards. There would hardly be any light in the world and those who are good would be forced to hide or they would be tortured, thrown in Azkaban or

This panic sparked the creation of several new anti-witch laws that allow for crimen exceptum which is when someone is judged guilty before their guilt is proven. Elias Slattery of the University of Virginia argues, “By choosing to give their souls over to the devil witches had committed crimes against man and against God. The gravity of this double crime classified witchcraft as crimen exceptum, and allowed the suspension of normal rules of evidence in order to punish the guilty.” These new anti-witchcraft laws started in 1484 with Pope Innocent VIII’s papal bull Summis desiderantes affectibus in which he spoke out against witchcraft in fear that it could compromise the Catholic faith. Within Summis desiderantes affectibus, Pope Innocent…

The following research was completed in attempt to answer the questions how do students in year round schools compare to students in traditional schools? How do different subgroups of students in year round schools compare to the same sub group of students at traditional schools? According to Lyttle (2011) year rounds schools are better than traditional schools because the students have better test scores and better learning habits of those at traditional schools. I think that it is the Ministry of Magic's job to prohibit any unjustified use of harmful spells, but not allowing Dark Arts under any circumstances will ban many forms of self defense and education. For example, by banning something as simple as the Knockback Jinx, that takes away a tool someone being attacked may use to defend themselves or anyone else that may be involved. In all honesty, the Ministry has already done all they can towards the magic, what needs to be done is repercussions for those who misuse and abuse their knowledge and capabilities in the Dark Arts. Many spells (including simple jinxes) would be out of legal reach, yet I doubt that would truly stop everyone from using these spells.…

If school is all year round there will be drastic changes in the american lifestyle. For example school being all year round would be a problem for children because year round school will not give students enough family time. This is the case because sometimes parents like to take a vacation, or a break once in awhile. Therefore the government should let schools have a break during the school year so that children can have time to spend with family and friends. There are many more problems such as parents would have to make scheduling adjustments, and year round school won’t give students enough time to spend with family and friends, and year round school would cost more money.…

Hogwarts was Harry Potter’s Delusion: There is a theory that Harry Potter’s wonderful idealistic adventures in Hogwarts were a delusion he created for himself in reaction to the Verbal and Physical abuse. For starters, Harry's magic fantasies begin when, in real life, he's about to begin school at Stonewall High, being separated from his abusive cousin for the first time. It's a new school, a new environment, and therefore the perfect time to begin his delusions. First creation: Hagrid.
