The Importance Of Having A Healthy New Baby

Improved Essays
Congratulations, you have a healthy new baby! That statement is very powerful because with just six words my life has changed forever. I am now in charge of another human beings life. Which means feeding them, changing them and bathing them. Sounds easy right? No matter how much hard work I did for nine months carrying them, the game plan has changed now. The infant is in the real world now and breathing on their own and they need me (mom) to help them survive. After me and my partner did significant amount of research and asking numerous questions about what the best meal plan for our baby will be, Breast or Bottle? The decision was made to breast feed. According to our research, studies have shown breast milk contains antibodies that helps the baby fight off viruses and bacteria. Also, it has been proven to lower the baby 's risk of having asthma or allergies. One more plus we learned was babies who are breastfed for the first 6 months, without any formula, have fewer ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and bouts of diarrhea. …show more content…
I can only assume that questions about how to feed, and when to feed the baby, are the top questions asked by new moms to pediatricians and nurses. In fact everyone has their own opinion of the right way and wrong way. I have learned that in order to learn something you have to make mistakes in order to not make new ones. In my opinion and experience, I believe 100% that the bond between a mother and child can never be broken if you start raising them right from the start meaning every time I feel my child needs me, for example, feeding on demand or changing them when wet/soiled it builds a strong trust factor in them. Naturally my child may choose a different path along the way that I do not agree with but if I stay in faith and continue to guide them the correct way they will always come back

When babies first enter this world they are still lacking vital vitamins and nutrients they need to live and develop properly. The key to providing them with the essential nutrients they need is by breast-feeding. A mother’s milk naturally contains DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), digestive enzymes, vitamins, antibodies, hormones, and the appropriate amount of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates that an infant needs to live and develop efficiently. The antibodies that breast milk contains help the infant strengthen their immune system’s response and resist certain diseases. Because of their stronger immune systems, breastfed babies get sick less often and for shorter periods.…

However, breastfeeding is considered to be the optimal choice for feeding infants, and breastfeeding is better than formula feeding because it gives infants protection, it is digested easily, and it is beneficial for mothers. (2-3-10) First of all, breast milk provides more protection for infants than formula milk (3).
