Some may say that by putting them in prison it will not "set them straight," but it will just make them reoffend. Doctors have done thorough research, and studies show that when judges try teenagers as adults, they understand how big the consequences are if they would reoffend. Over the span of teenagers' lives, their parents may influence them to commit the crime, but that does not mean that they must obey. They understand that one should not always act on another person's word. Even though a few of these reasons are understandable, there is evidence to prove that our community would be better off if officers would send them to prison. Although there are numerous reasons why one would be against sending juveniles to prison, science and the opinions of others say otherwise.
