In France, the government pays for girls to have birth control without parental consent, and as the government pays for it, that adds another level of privacy. Knowing the importance and how effective they are is not something only parents should be knowledgeable about. Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of sex education throughout the United States and they say contraceptives, such as condoms, are very protective from HIV/AIDS. When using a condom during sex, it drastically provides safety from HIV/AIDS 10,000 times more, than not using one. Wouldn’t the parent of a sexual active teenager, want that, more than them not using anything at all? Also, people who are allergic to latex, cannot use that has an excuse not to use one; because there are latex free condoms available. Studies show that when teenagers are educated on safe sex, as well as abstinence, they are more likely to take their time before they have sex for the first time.
