In some cases, these teens and even minors are prescribed heavier doses of medication to help aid their mental state, but at the same time these drugs have more negative side effects than positive outcome. While trying to suppress or cease some symptoms to stop teens from being aggressive, but it is doing more detrimental effect to the physical and mental being of these adolescent bodies and mind. This can lead to more serious effects on the behavior of teens causing them become depressed or have suicidal thoughts. What purpose does it serve to continue prescribing medication for the time being if the dose of the medication will eventually be higher and higher? This does not seem like the correct way to encourage and promote a better way to aid teens in a healthier state of mind for many prisons. Leaving teens to be placed into solitary confinement can have significant mental harm, because it can cause insomnia, have mood swings, become aggressive or depressed and even have hallucinations. I that there is a lot of evidence to repeal that teens shouldn’t face life sentences without parole or even face the death penalty seems like an unjustifiable manner and morally incorrect and we should approach these situations to make a positive impact on the lives of these distraught juveniles. Leaving them confined in prison would only worsen the situation and cause a more mental breakdown for most of these kids and teens. We can make a difference in their lives to make an effort to change their perspective to encourage them to have an aptitude will to make the right choices. What good will it do to have a teen be sentenced to prison for the duration of their lives if they will have nothing to show for their resentment of their mistakes and reflect on what they could have done. They should at least have a chance to earn a shorter sentence if they see that they have made an improvement inwards their behavior and truly understand what they did was wrong and learn from their mistakes. They should be able to have the opportunity at a second chance to make an improvement to their lives and make a positive influence to make teens to reflect on their actions and what they can make of themselves after their experience.
