Should teachers be given guns?

Teachers absolutely do not need a gun during school there are several reasons why. One of those reasons are the 14.04% of teachers are sleeping with their students. Do you think it's wise that someone who can sleep with and have relations with a minor should be able to carry a firearm let alone teach a school? Also, more guns will never be the answer to violence, it just creates more violence. Lastly, it would take needed funding away from actual school programs. These are just a couple reasons why teachers DO NOT need to carry weapons at school.

As stated above teachers get fired for things like sexual harassment, kidnapping, and so much more. Teachers are humans just like anyone else walking the street, they aren't any holier than the people working in factories or a desk job. There was an incident in California at a school called Seaside where a legally armed teacher was showing the students about gun safety and he shot his (gun) by accident injuring 4 students. Luckily no students died or were seriously injured. However, this was just a prime example showing what could happen if all teachers had guns.

We don’t require bank tellers to protect a bank just like we don't require teachers to stop a school shooter we have security officers there for that. There is no reason to have 37 teachers all carry guns in class. What happens if a student got ahold to one? Would it be the teachers fault or the Board for allowing teachers to carry them? It would be easy for a teacher to just shoot and end up with a lot more innocent dead people than we have already. We need violence to end not to ad

If teachers have access to the weapons, an intruder could also gain access only increasing the potential for violence. Concealed handguns in the schools would be kept in a secure area and teachers and administrators would have strict procedures in carrying the gun on school grounds. There would be more responsibility for the teachers and administrators, but in order to protect students teachers would welcome new regulations. The battle continues in state legislatures across the country.…

There is a lot of cost that would go into this. For example the state has to pay for the gun and ammo. Where does this money come from are people willing to pay more taxes. Also if a teacher got a gun what is stopping them from shooting kids most kids do not think it would make them feel safe. This would be bad and could end up with someone being dead. The second reason teachers should not carry guns is teachers could be careless with their guns. “ I'm not sure I could even get to a gun in a drawer or closet to use it…” - Mrs. Robinson (not the teacher at our school) this shows that if a school shooting did happen, the teacher may not have time or the instinct to go for their gun, they are probably just worrying about themselves and their kids. Another possibility would be, a teacher could leave it in there desk unmonitored and unlocked, and anyone could take it, and use it, hurting themselves or others. Another example could be if the teacher was not paying attention to her students and one students steals her gun while it is holstered on her body because she was being careless, and he shoots it.…

Not only teachers could get scared to shot their former student but, can cause students and parents can be afraid to be around or having kids around that…
