Do you want your children to be safe? A big topic in the news today is about teachers starting to have guns with them in the classroom. I personally agree with this statement as a student because I want to feel like I’m safe when I come to school everyday. There are tons of incidents at schools every year involving guns, since 2013 there has been 290 school shootings. When your child goes to school they want to feel safe and not be scared that something bad is gonna happen everyday. Why not help your children be safer by offering a way to keep them protected when away from home, let me tell you the pros of teachers having guns.

For one teachers having guns could turn school shooters away. I mean, if you think about it who wants to go and shoot a school when they know that the teachers there have guns and are ready to protect their students. Would you really want to risk waiting for the police to show up and take care of the situation while your children play hide-n-seek with a shooter. Teachers having guns could take care of part of that problem, people wouldn’t want to take the chance of walking in there. If a teacher was armed it could ease your mind a bit knowing that they have someone protecting them from the shooter. When someone goes to shoot a school they don’t plan on the teachers having guns, they think they can get in and out without getting caught, if the teachers are armed, they can take them by surprise and protect their students while they wait for the police to arrive. Teachers having guns could help with the response time of the police. While they are on their way they could detain the shooter and keeps their students
