“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and install the love of learning” (Brad Henry). Teachers all across the US are being underpaid for a job that should be highly appreciated. They work hard to ensure that students are set up to have a successful life filled with astounding achievements. Teachers have dedication, knowledge, and tolerance; still, teachers are underpaid for the work they accomplish and should be paid at least 20,000 more than their current salary. On average, teachers are being paid about 45 thousand dollars per year. Although they get a summer off, the amount of work that goes into the school year is immense. A regular school day in the US is from six to seven hours, during this work time, educators are working hard with nearly any breaks. Also, teachers stay after school and come in on the weekends to make sure that their class is prepared for the students. The question is, are we paying teachers enough for the work they do? Schoolteachers in other nations are being paid accordingly to the work they conclude and the prosperity they encounter. Their claim is that teachers get the whole summer off, this is way more than other jobs. Also, that teachers have complete control over their classroom and get high recognition. I believe that this claim is misguided because in frank, teachers work extremely hard to see the success of their students. They have to obtain the utmost tolerance in order to have jurisdiction over students. It takes years of practice and schooling to learn how to keep a classroom serene. Also, they have to master how to teach kids with patience and consideration. Many citizens who are dedicated to being teachers are not in that field because of the money, they do it because they love to teach. We should notice our educators more and pay them
