A 2012 study by The RAND Corporation, a leading research nonprofit, found that “teachers matter more to student achievement than any other aspect of schooling.” Teachers play the role of educating students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. In many instances, teachers provide important role modeling for students who may not have it at home, and school itself provides stability and consistency for high needs students. Teaching is so much more than just giving pointless assignments and incredibly hard tests that make students question, “What’s the point?” It is a career which helps shape students to be the best that they can be and it takes a very special person to do that.…

The debate over whether parents should pay their children for good grades is getting more popular as the rate of high school dropouts is nearing 7,000 students a day. Parents have high hopes for their children when it comes to their future, so they typically emphasize how important education is to their children at a young age. You may see initial improvement from the start, but it can’t buy good grades for very long. No matter how bad we it to, money can’t buy motivation, smarts or school success.…
