There is a newly beginning topic in today 's world. With our worlds newly trending technology such as iPad’s, laptops, and other devices, new usages for these devices has been brought upon us. Should tablets be used in schools today? The uproar of use in tablets in today 's education has excessively increased in the last few years. Should tablets be used in the classrooms today, or should the classroom be stuck with the classic physical textbook? Tablets have been entering the school system for education purposes for many years so far. There has been a proven studies that have shown that students who are using technology-based instruction have been learning almost up to 80% faster than someone who is learning through a textbook. Just like any other handheld device that has ever been released, they come with a large variety of health issues. These health issues contain: shoulder pain, neck pain, repetitive strain on your muscles, or other different skeletal disorders. Imagine if someone who has been using a tablet since kindergarten, and they are in 12th grade. How many health problems could be possible between their years of school. That’s not good. In addition, manufacturing tablets are very environmentally destructive to human health by the amount of greenhouse gasses alone as well. Even on the internet, there is a lot of ways to learn and expand your knowledge. But schools are not ready for technology to enter their building. Schools should not be using tablets to expand education, or teach it quicker. Schools should only consider using tablets for in-class assignments such as laptops or tablets for quizzes, or study time. There are many positives to having devices in the classroom, such as chances of higher test scores on your standardized tests, but this isn’t the case for every student. From anywhere from health issues, to internet troubles at home can be disastrous to any school who uses technology for full-time use. After reading over the pros and the cons for the studies, schools should not be allowed to use tablets to replace textbooks, simply to the fact that there is too many downsides from a tablet losing all data of its e-books, to the health issues that comes with using tablets. They should generally be limited, or completely disallowed in the school
