Should Students Regulate School Uniforms?

A lot of schools enforce them however, what’s the whole point of school uniforms anyway? Most students detest school uniforms because for the most part, it restricts their freedom of expression, but what about the size and structure? Some students are too tall, small, big, and or short for the regulated uniforms to fit them properly so they have to pay for custom made uniforms. A punishment is issued in some schools if students do not wear the regulated school uniforms, which results in a lot of detention. If students cannot afford to buy the uniforms, then what are they supposed to do? Now, in private schools, students do not have to worry about the cost of their uniforms, as getting into a private school costs a lot of money, which means if they can afford to go to the school, they can afford the uniforms. …show more content…
Most schools with regulated uniforms also have a certain scrupulous dress code and a lot of clothing types are not permissible, which can cause stress amongst students that are insecure about their appearance. Some schools have a mandatory skirt policy for girls which is again, very bad for girls who are cynical and insecure about their body. A skirt policy can also result in depression from how insecure they feel about wearing the skirt in public. In addition, school uniforms can also be extremely uncomfortable and certain students could be allergic to the certain fabric.
Another reason that schools should not enforce school uniforms would be because it restricts their freedom of expression and can also increase bad behavior and rebellion. How so? Some students tend to rebel against certain things that they don’t like and they also tend to have bad attitudes and behavior with other students as well as teachers to show their disapproval.
