This is how i feel on the topic about whether cursive is important or not. Both passages talk about some very interesting points and i agree with a few ideas from both passages. They also have some science behind them to prove they are true, so let's just say both passages bring up some very interesting points. So basically I'm going to tell you which choice i agree with more.
Only once while i was in elementary and middle school did i learn how to write in cursive, and i can tell you right now that all kids need to learn how to write in cursive. If you ever fill out a job application or important document or with a letter to a loved one you will need to know how to write in cursive, because it looks more professional. I only learned the basics of cursive when i was a kid which still i use to this day, but i never learned how to perfect it. In the second passage they argue that point by saying that teachers do not value cursive and only 37% of teachers know how to write in cursive. It also says that cursive was mainly only needed before electronics were used or popular, because you needed to write your signature in cursive, but now that is no longer needed since you use electronics for everything.
