I support the idea that students should maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher in order to receive and keep their driver’s license. The reason that I believe that requiring students to have a 2.5 GPA or higher is a good idea is that it would encourage students to do well in school. If they have something that they want bad enough they will work harder to get it. If they work hard to improve their grades and keep their grades good, they deserve to be able to drive, their commitment starts to show. Another reason that the idea of having students maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher is good is that it will help teach them to be more responsible. Being irresponsible with your schoolwork or in school could reflect on how you will be driving. If you can’t handle doing a paper how can you handle a car? Responsibility is very important when driving a car, if you are being irresponsible when driving you could pose a threat to yourself or other people on the road and could injure yourself or someone else as a result.
