Should Students Have The Right To Speak Out On Campus

Recently, students are experiencing some of their freedoms being taken by school administrators. Why would they do that? Mostly because the school administrators want to create a safe and healthy environment where students can learn. So the school administrators take away the student's right to speech. It sounds crazy, but the school administrators do this because the students are minors, and it is not violating their rights, but some disagree to that. Should students have the right to speak out on campus?

Organizations like the Center for Public Education says,"It is important to remember that speech, as defined by the Constitution, is not just words. It also includes nonverbal and symbolic expression: clothes, off-campus web sites, dance performances, and art. In today’s climate, questions about freedom of speech are amplified. The nation is polarized by matters of war and peace, and in-your-face moral issues provoke discussions that make parents cringe." This means that it is not just the right to speech fro students, it is the right for everything that students do. Most students can actually wear the clothes they like on campus without fear of getting in trouble by teachers.
