Should Students Get Paid To Go To School?

Students should not get paid to go to school There are many reasons why students shouldn’t get paid to go to school. First off being able to go to school and learn is a privilege that many people don’t have. The second reason is that while students getting high grades based off of an incentive isn’t a bad thing but research shows that it dampens their creativity and enthusiasm about learning. The final reason is the cost to be able to reward every student with cash would cost an absurd amount of money. Being able to go to school and learn instead of working as kids our age do in some countries is a privilege. Many kids in third world countries have to go to jobs or even go to war whilst we sit on our butts and complain about how much school sucks. Many of us don’t realize how well off we are. The first Intrinsic, the motivation to do something out of sheer interest. Then there is extrinsic, the motivation to do something expecting a reward. Think of extrinsic motivation like this, if you are teaching a dog a trick you give it a treat whenever the dog completed the task successfully. So later the dog uses extrinsic motivation to do the trick again expecting a treat instead of doing it just because it wants to.
