Should Students Get Paid For Gaining Good Grades

Decent Essays
Many students, along with me, believe that students should get paid for having good grades. Having good grades means students work hard in school and accomplish what they are asked to do. Students should get paid for getting good grades because it helps encourage them to complete their work. If students get a reward for earning good grades then the grades may go up in the U.S.A because students are trying harder. It seems to me that students would appreciate gaining something for receiving good grades.

In my opinion, I agree completely that students who try harder in school to obtain better grades should earn money. There are students that could care less about going to school and trying to keep their grades up, but if they knew they could

College students pay numerous fees to attend and receive a degree from their university. Due to these incurred costs it is understandable that money can be tight for some students because of the multiple fees and charges they pay. One of the costs that has been controversial for college students is the cost of food offered on campus. Some students could argue that the cost of food is too high, and that the quality of the food does not match the costs of the food. Evidence from Nate Nkumbu’s article “Campus food costs around the state” shows that students are paying too much for food and are not receiving the quality that they are paying for eating on campus.…

I honestly don’t believe that student-athletes should get paid to play sports. There seems to be a misunderstanding about how profitable these athletic programs really are and that the schools are making tons of money off of these athletes. In reality, only a small portion of these school programs are lucrative while most function at a higher cost to the institution itself. The question of pay mainly rests of the sports of basketball and football because of their high-profile and revenue athletics departments. The argument is that student athletes should receive compensation because these institutions are banking millions of dollars off of their student’s performances.…

In the midst of college and sports there is a certain criteria that a few distinct individuals meet or represent and have a huge impact on. Those individuals are the various student athletes scattered among the basketball and football programs of superior institutions. Various players that have the opportunity to pursue a higher education initially have their athletic ability to thank. The controversy between student athletes and whether or not they should receive pay from the institutions they attend has generated multiple positions. The discussion generates ideas and beliefs that support the reason for student athletes (in well recognized programs) receiving compensation as well as beliefs that support the reasoning against paying student athletes for their “volunteer” services.…

People always think about what they can do to further their life, and a big part of that thinking revolves around how they are going to or even if they are going to attend college. The thought of the tuition fee and rising costs discourages some from taking that step towards a higher education, but for some, and unfortunately others, they choose the path towards bettering their minds and have to pay the price, literally. There are ways to reduce costs through special programmes but even that isn’t enough sometimes. What’s needed is someone or something to step in to help secure the bright futures of every future academic.…
