With endless petitions being published and forgiveness acts being made, this is a problem that many individuals are struggling with. Some can argue that forgiving student loans is “unfair” but how is it unfair when these individuals that are just getting out of school are expected to pay off such large increments of money and get in the work force. We are all very aware that this is a universal problem but we still manage to be told their isn’t enough reasoning to help out the people who truthfully need it. Wolfers mentions the idea that we should be giving this relief to people who truly need it when he states, “Why give money to college grads rather than the 15 percent of the population in poverty?”(229) which is a valid point, but poverty is inevitable. As much as we all want to believe we can save those who are struggling and cure world hunger, that goal will never be in reach. Why not give money to the individuals with potential? The people who just spent years earning degrees and are prepared to work hard because of the time and money they’ve spent on schooling. Forgiving student loans is an idea that is completely logic and it is not life we are completely diminishing all of the individuals responsibly for these loans, it’s just simplifying the process. Webley then come to a sort of happy medium
